Job Description: Network Automation
We are seeking a Senior Network Automation Engineer with 7+ years of experience to design, implement, and support automation solutions for enterprise network infrastructure. The role focuses on improving operational efficiency by automating network provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and troubleshooting processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in network automation tools, scripting, and enterprise network environments, along with the ability to collaborate with operations and engineering teams to enhance network reliability and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain network automation frameworks to streamline network configuration, provisioning, and monitoring.
Develop automation scripts using Python and integrate with network devices using REST APIs.
Implement automation workflows using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and other infrastructure automation platforms.
Automate routine operational tasks such as configuration backups, compliance checks, device provisioning, and firewall rule deployment.
Work closely with network operations teams to identify manual processes and convert them into automated workflows.
Monitor automation performance and troubleshoot issues related to automated network processes.
Maintain documentation for automation scripts, playbooks, and operational procedures.
Support integration of network automation with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines using Git.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure automation solutions align with operational and business requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
5 to 6 years of experience in network engineering, with significant experience in network automation.
Strong programming knowledge in Python for network scripting and automation.
Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Netmiko, or NAPALM.
Experience working with REST APIs and network device automation frameworks.
Strong understanding of networking concepts including routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and network security fundamentals.
Experience automating devices from vendors such as Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks, Palo Alto Networks, or Fortinet.
Experience working in enterprise or data center network environments.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and automation frameworks.
Knowledge of cloud networking environments such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
Familiarity with network monitoring and logging tools.
Networking certifications such as CCNP or automation-related certifications.
