POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Architect to provide strategic architectural leadership as well as hands-on technical guidance for a mission-critical Federal Health IT program
The Senior Salesforce Architect will lead the architecture, design, and technical direction of enterprise Salesforce solutions supporting complex business processes, integrations, workflow automation, reporting, data management, and digital services.
This role requires a strong combination of enterprise architecture experience, deep Salesforce technical expertise, Federal stakeholder engagement, and the ability to work hands-on with development and integration teams.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating at both the strategic and technical levels-defining architecture and standards while also diving into complex technical issues, reviewing code/designs, troubleshooting integrations, and guiding implementation teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the overall Salesforce solution architecture and technical direction
Translate business, functional, security, integration, and data requirements into scalable and maintainable Salesforce architectures.
Define Salesforce architecture patterns, development standards, reusable components, technical governance, and engineering best practices.
Determine the appropriate use of Salesforce configuration, Flow, custom development, integrations, and third-party solutions.
Design and guide solutions using Lightning Experience, Lightning Web Components, Apex, Flow, APIs, security controls, reporting, dashboards, and platform automation.
Develop architecture diagrams, integration models, data models, interface specifications, technical designs, and implementation documentation.
Lead solution design sessions, architecture reviews, and technical discussions with Government and contractor stakeholders.
Provide technical oversight and mentoring to Salesforce developers, engineers, and other technical team members.
Architect complex integrations between Salesforce and external Federal systems, APIs, databases, identity providers, document management platforms, and enterprise applications.
Define data architecture strategies covering data modeling, migration, cleansing, synchronization, data quality, retention, and archival.
Ensure architecture addresses Salesforce governor limits, performance, scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and availability.
Partner with cybersecurity teams to design Salesforce security controls including profiles, permission sets, sharing models, authentication, encryption, audit logging, and access controls.
Ensure solutions align with applicable Federal security, privacy, accessibility, and data-protection requirements.
Provide technical leadership across DevSecOps processes including source control, CI/CD, automated deployments, environment management, code reviews, and release management.
Review existing Salesforce implementations and identify modernization opportunities, technical debt, performance improvements, and platform optimization opportunities.
Troubleshoot and provide direction on complex application, integration, performance, and deployment issues.
Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical estimation, release planning, and Agile ceremonies.
Mentor developers and promote Salesforce engineering and architecture best practices.
Evaluate Salesforce platform enhancements and emerging technologies for applicability to client requirements.
Assess and guide responsible use of AI, Salesforce Agentforce, and generative AI capabilities where appropriate.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
8+ years of enterprise application development and/or architecture experience.
5+ years of hands-on Salesforce implementation experience.
3+ years of experience as a Salesforce Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or Lead Architect.
Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture and multi-layer enterprise application design.
Strong hands-on experience with:
Apex
Lightning Web Components (LWC)
Salesforce Flow
SOQL/SOSL
REST/SOAP APIs
Salesforce security model
Data modeling
Reports and dashboards
Enterprise integration patterns
Proven experience architecting Salesforce integrations with external enterprise applications.
Strong understanding of Salesforce governor limits, performance optimization, scalability, deployment practices, and development standards.
Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
Strong written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Ability to explain complex technical architecture and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to obtain and maintain the required Federal Public Trust clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Federal experience, particularly with HRSA, HHS, CMS, FDA, or another Federal civilian health agency.
Experience with Salesforce Public Sector Solutions, Experience Cloud, Service Cloud, or Health Cloud.
Salesforce certifications such as:
Salesforce Certified Application Architect
Salesforce Certified System Architect
Salesforce Certified Platform Developer
Salesforce Certified Integration Architect
Salesforce Certified Data Architect
Salesforce Certified Sharing and Visibility Architect
Experience with MuleSoft or comparable enterprise integration platforms.
Experience with DevSecOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Copado, Gearset, Azure DevOps, or similar technologies.
Familiarity with Federal security standards, Section 508 accessibility requirements, and NIST-based environments.
Experience applying AI, generative AI, predictive analytics, or Salesforce Agentforce to enterprise workflows.
