SOC Analyst 1

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor mission-essential communication sites, networks, and information systems for security and operational events.
• Review, classify, prioritize, and escalate alerts to ensure timely resolution.
• Follow established procedures for event collection, triage, analysis, classification, and escalation.
• Receive and document events reported through email, chat, phone, monitoring tools, and other communication systems.
• Maintain accurate and detailed incident records, including actions taken and escalation details.
• Collect and analyze technical information to determine whether an alert is a valid incident or a false positive.
• Maintain established standards for triage accuracy and response times.
• Assist with network and cybersecurity incident response and resolution activities.
• Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to communicate incident details and recommended response actions.
• Support the development and improvement of operational playbooks, dashboards, performance metrics, and detection strategies.
• Perform additional duties or work alternate shifts based on operational requirements.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong documentation and attention-to-detail capabilities.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-priority operational environment.
• Willingness to work flexible or rotating shifts within a 24/7 schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• One to three years of experience working in a Security Operations Center, Network Operations Center, or similar technical monitoring environment.
