Position Description

The Warranty Field Technician is responsible for supporting warranty-related service repairs on HVAC and critical cooling equipment used in data center environments. This role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and completing approved warranty repairs to ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and in accordance with company and customer expectations.

The Warranty Field Technician will work closely with Technical Support, Field Service Management, Quality, and Commissioning teams to resolve warranty issues, support root cause findings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform approved warranty repairs on Data Center critical cooling systems, including chillers, CRAH units and FanWall systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues to identify the cause of equipment failures or performance concerns.
  • Replace defective parts and components in accordance with warranty guidelines, technical instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Support warranty investigations by documenting findings, failure details, corrective actions, and parts replaced.
  • Work with Technical Support to confirm warranty validity, required repairs, and appropriate resolution steps.
  • Respond to assigned warranty service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Escalate critical equipment issues, repeated failures, or customer concerns to management.
  • Provide detailed service reports, photos, and documentation upon completion of work.
  • Follow all company safety requirements, customer site procedures, and data center protocols.
  • Maintain a professional customer-facing presence while representing the company in the field.

Required Education & Qualifications

Travel

Travel is expected to be approximately 0-75%, but may be heavier at times based on customer needs, project demands, and warranty repair schedules.

Required Education & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification required.
  • 2 years of commercial, industrial, or data center HVAC experience preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC mechanical systems, refrigeration circuits, electrical components, and controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, piping schematics, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while coordinating with internal support teams.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
