IT Business System Analyst (Temporary)

SUMMARY:
The Information Technology department is seeking a Temporary Business Systems Analyst to support enterprise application initiatives by gathering and documenting business, system, and integration requirements. This role will collaborate with functional stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to analyze business processes, document system integrations, and support the successful delivery of technology solutions.
The Business Systems Analyst will focus on documenting requirements and processes related to integrations and data exchanges across enterprise systems, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements for application integrations and system enhancements.
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with functional stakeholders, IT staff, and external vendors.
- Translate business needs into clear, well-structured functional and non-functional requirements.
- Document system integrations, including source and target systems, data flows, and dependencies.
- Develop and maintain business process documentation, including current-state and future-state workflows.
- Create and update system and integration documentation to support implementation, testing, and ongoing support.
- Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to clarify requirements and resolve questions.
- Support project activities such as solution validation, user acceptance testing, and documentation updates.
- Maintain organized, accessible documentation repositories in accordance with departmental standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Five (5) or more years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role.
- Experience gathering and documenting requirements for system integrations and data exchanges.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and written communication skills.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a complex organizational environment.
- Ability to clearly document complex business and technical concepts.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting enterprise platforms, including: Workday, Atrium, and MIM (Microsoft Identity Manager) or equivalent identity management solutions.
- Experience documenting integrations involving APIs, file-based exchanges, or middleware solutions.
- Experience documenting business processes and system workflows using diagrams or structured documentation.
- Experience in higher education or other large, highly regulated organizations.
- Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or project-based delivery methodologies.
