TEKsystems is actively hiring an
Experienced Cable Technician to support a leading communications provider within
hospital and medical facility environments. This role is well suited for a technician with a strong
voice and data cabling background who is looking to expand into
critical healthcare infrastructure, including
Nurse Call and
BDA (Bi-Directional Amplifier / Public Safety) systems.
Technicians will begin by leveraging existing structured cabling experience while receiving hands-on exposure and training in healthcare-specific systems that support
patient safety, clinical communication, and first-responder connectivity.
What You'll Be Doing- Install, terminate, test, and label structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) in active healthcare environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, hospital drawings, and low-voltage schematics
- Support structured cabling pathways, including J-hooks, cable tray, and conduit
- Work in MDFs, IDFs, equipment rooms, and patient-care areas
- Lead by example while maintaining healthcare-grade workmanship and cleanliness standards
- Assist with infrastructure support for:
- Nurse Call systems (patient-to-staff communication)
- BDA/DAS systems (public safety and emergency responder coverage)
- Coordinate with project managers and hospital stakeholders to ensure compliance and minimal disruption
- Follow strict safety, cleanliness, and infection-control protocols on job sites
Required Skills- Structured cabling installation and termination
- Cat5 / Cat6 cable installation
- Blueprint and schematic reading
- Voice and data cabling experience
- Experience working on commercial projects
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
