Senior Platform Engineer — Cloud & Kubernetes
Contract: 6?month full?time (with strong potential to extend or convert)
Schedule: Standard Arizona business hours

We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join a mission?driven organization that builds and operates large?scale cloud platforms supporting learners and educators nationwide. This is a hands?on role where you’ll work with modern cloud?native technologies and play a key part in keeping critical systems reliable, secure, and scalable.

This position starts as a full?time, six?month contract, with the opportunity to extend long?term or convert to a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

What You’ll Work On

You’ll support and evolve a production?grade AWS EKS environment, partnering closely with application and platform teams. This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure and application delivery, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys owning systems end?to?end and solving complex problems in distributed environments.

What You’ll Do

Support and maintain Kubernetes (EKS)?based platform environments
Manage, scale, and optimize Kubernetes workloads in production
Work with service mesh technologies (Istio preferred) for traffic management, security, and observability
Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure reliable releases and scalable services
Troubleshoot production issues across both infrastructure and application layers

What We’re Looking For

3+ years of hands?on experience with AWS EKS
Strong production experience with Kubernetes
Experience with Istio or similar service mesh tools
Solid Infrastructure as Code skills (Terraform preferred)
Background in DevOps practices, automation, and CI/CD
Comfort working independently and taking ownership of complex systems
A full?stack mindset, with the ability to move between infrastructure and application concerns as needed
