Role Summary

The Fircosoft Application Specialist is responsible for the implementation, support, configuration, and optimization of the Fircosoft suite (primarily Firco Continuity) used for sanctions screening and compliance monitoring within enterprise banking systems. The role ensures high availability, regulatory compliance, and efficient processing of financial transactions.


Key Responsibilities

1. Application Support & Operations

Provide end-to-end production support (24x7 environment) for Fircosoft applications.

Act as Level 2 / Level 3 support, troubleshooting issues escalated from Level 1 help desk.

Perform root cause analysis and coordinate with vendor (Level 4) for issue resolution when needed.

Monitor application health, queues, and processing flows (e.g., MQ, Kafka, batch jobs).


2. Sanctions Screening & Transaction Processing

Support screening of Wire, ACH, and payment messages against sanctions lists.

Ensure timely processing and decisioning of alerts generated by Firco Continuity.

Assist in investigation workflows for flagged transactions and escalation handling.


3. Configuration & Rule Management

Configure and maintain:

Screening rules

Sanctions/watch lists

Filtering parameters

Support tools such as:

Firco Utilities for rule/list management

Live Services for impact analysis and rule testing

Optimize rules to reduce false positives and improve screening accuracy.


4. Monitoring & Performance Management

Perform daily monitoring and health checks of application and infrastructure components.

Track:

System performance (CPU, memory, queues)

Error queues and failed transactions

Execute scheduled restarts and operational maintenance activities


5. Incident & Change Management

Handle incidents, service requests, and problem tickets via ITSM tools.

Support deployments, upgrades, and patching activities.

Participate in release validation and production readiness checks.


6. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

Work closely with:

AML/Sanctions business teams

Compliance and audit teams

Infrastructure and cloud teams

Coordinate with vendors (LexisNexis / Fircosoft) for enhancements and issue resolution.


Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

Hands-on experience with:

Firco Continuity (mandatory)

Fircosoft Suite (Trust, WLM – preferred)

Knowledge of:

Payment systems (SWIFT MT/MX, Wire, ACH)

Messaging (MQ, Kafka)

Databases (SQL, Oracle)

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog).

Familiarity with Linux scripting.
