Role: Lab System Engineer

Location: San Diego, CA

Onsite role

 

  • Support laboratory IT/OT infrastructure, laboratory systems, and scientific instrument environments in GxP-regulated settings.
  • Administer Active Directory, including Organizational Units (OU), Group Policies, user accounts, and service account management.
  • Implement and support endpoint security solutions, including EDR deployment, vulnerability remediation, and access control.
  • Configure and maintain laboratory workstations, instrument PCs, Windows servers, and endpoint management tools.
  • Support Non-Attributable Account (NAA) remediation, password management, and privileged access solutions such as Beyond Trust.
  • Perform OS patching, software deployment, endpoint hardening, and vulnerability management activities.
  • Support laboratory instrument connectivity, software integrations, and secure data transfer between laboratory systems.
  • Manage software governance, application allow lists, USB device controls, and security compliance across laboratory environments.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, authentication, and laboratory instrument issues while ensuring minimal operational downtime.
  • Utilize ServiceNow (or similar ITSM tools) to manage incidents, service requests, change requests, and problem management activities.
  • Support Computer System Validation (CSV), GxP compliance, SOP adherence, and regulatory requirements for laboratory systems.
  • Collaborate with laboratory scientists, Business System Owners, infrastructure teams, vendors, and global stakeholders to deliver secure and reliable lab solutions.
  • Maintain technical documentation, system inventories, configuration records, and security compliance reports.
  • Participate in system upgrades, security initiatives, and deployment of new laboratory technologies.
  • Provide production support, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement for laboratory systems and operational technology environments.
