Project Summary
Client is seeking an experienced SAP BASIS Specialist, Leased Employee resource. The resource will provide technical and architecture design support for our enterprise SAP solutions. Supported environments include: ECC, CRM, BW, BOBJ, PO, Web Dispatcher, Fiori, C/4 HANA, S/4 HANA, Ariba, SAP BTP, SuccessFactors, SAP BDC, SAP SAC, Datasphere, among others.
Mandatory Qualifications (MQs)
Five (5) years as SAP BASIS supporting SAP ABAP and JAVA systems.
Three (3) years supporting S/4 HANA, C/4 HANA, SuccessFactors, SAP BTP technology (cloud connector, cloud integration, Fiori, UI5, SAP HANA).
Experience supporting at least two (2) major SAP implementations or upgrade projects, including S/4HANA migration using selective data transition and SAP RISE support.
Able to provide remote on-call support outside of regular work hours which may include nights and weekends.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible IT experience in administration of enterprise applications, including SAP BASIS.
Must have experience in administration of SAP and non-SAP enterprise solutions (installation, setup, patching, troubleshooting, documentation, coordination).
Must have experience in SAP system design, configuration, and functionality.
Must have experience in system s development lifecycle, data modeling, and complex technical issue resolution.
Must have experience in data maintenance, retrieval, and operating systems (UNIX, Linux, Windows, AIX).
Must have experience in all these areas. SAP ECC6, S/4 HANA, BW/BI, CRM, BOBJ, PO, BPC, HANA, C/4 HANA, SAP BTP, SuccessFactors, Cloud Connector, Fiori/Gateway, SAC, BDC, Datasphere, Solution Manager.
Desirable Qualifications
Able to work hybrid every Tuesday onsite. This only qualifies for resources residing within a 2-hour drive (100-mile radius) from Headquarters location in Sacramento, CA.
Current SAP certifications related to the systems outlined in the scope of work are required to ensure alignment with technical environment
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
Deep knowledge of SAP cloud offerings and hyperscale.
Expert use of Solution Manager for monitoring and project documentation.
Proficiency in SAP system refresh processes (native SAP and tools such as LAMA, SAP PCA).
Administration experience for NetWeaver Java solutions (NWDI, EP 7.0, Adobe Document Services, PO, Web Dispatcher, SLD).
Experience with SAP change management (CTS+, non-ABAP and cloud solutions).
SAP system administration in DB2/AIX, RHEL environments
Key Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 on-call and after-hours support, as required.
Lead primary SAP BASIS administration for major enterprise applications.
Provide secondary administration support for other enterprise applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, acting as the primary point of contact.
Work closely with analysts and technical teams to resolve system outages or performance issues.
Schedule and coordinate SAP system installs, upgrades, patches, backups, and restorations.
Perform OS, application, database, and client tool patching and migrations.
Fully test patches in non-production environments before deployment; evaluate and install software patches as needed.
Configure systems and applications technically, ensuring alignment with standards.
Ensure application availability per Service Level Agreements.
Perform system sizing and capacity planning.
Act as vendor liaison for bug fixes, licensing, and maintenance.
Report to management with status updates, issues, and progress.
Interface with business units and application users for support and troubleshooting.
Install new application releases and version upgrades.
Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues as related to SAP platform.
Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and inventories for SAP system administration, including architecture, backup policies, and user management.
Manage application security, including user administration.
Provide desktop support and coordinate or deliver user training as needed.
Evaluate software and hardware and provide technical recommendations.
Automate tasks and streamline administrative processes in collaboration with IT and support teams.
Coordinate application support with other SMUD resources (security, network, operations, application development).
Configure, maintain, and monitor batch jobs and scripts; resolve related errors.
Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.
Maintain fault tolerance and disaster recovery plans for SAP systems.
