DBT Architect

Job Summary:

- Serve as the Lead Architect for the migration from Snap Logic to DBT on Google BigQuery in a 100% remote, Pacific Time-based role.
- Define the end-to-end data architecture strategy and establish DBT modeling standards (staging, intermediate, marts).
- Design scalable, cost-optimized solutions on BigQuery and create the migration roadmap and rollout plans.
- Act as the primary onshore interface for client stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Lead workshops, design discussions, and provide regular status updates, including risks and mitigation strategies.
- Oversee offshore teams (DBT engineering, testing, BI) to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of all project phases.
- Review and approve technical designs and deliverables; ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Lead ETL assessment and drive transformation to DBT, leveraging automation frameworks like Vega.
- Ensure comprehensive data validation, reconciliation, and implementation of CICD/DevOps best practices.
- Define and enforce data quality, governance standards, naming conventions, and coding standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant security policies and governance requirements.
- Required skills include 12+ years in data engineering/architecture, strong DBT (Core & Cloud), advanced SQL/data modeling, large-scale migration experience, BigQuery expertise, and experience with onshore-offshore delivery.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities are essential.
- Preferred skills: SnapLogic, automation tools (Vega), data governance tools, BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI), and Python scripting.
