Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Lead - Hybrid position with a Major Financial Institution located in McLean, VA or Richmond, VA. This is a 5-month contract opportunity. This role will act as a key data lead, leveraging versatile technical capabilities to drive the development, evolution, and implementation of data products that enable self-service by data consumers. The ideal candidate will re-engineer data processes, migrate them from on-premises to Amazon Web Services, and explore industry trends, tools, and techniques in the Open Source and Big Data domain. This is a hybrid role requiring physical attendance onsite 3 days per week.
Responsibilities: - Act as key data lead to drive the development, evolution, and implementation of data products
- Re-engineer data processes and migrate them from on-premises to Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Explore industry trends, tools, and techniques in the Open Source/Big Data/Digital domain
- Execute and monitor data processes that deliver critical data to partners and regulators
- Develop prototypes and implement new business intelligence tools, solutions, and techniques
- Assist in the development of standards and policies for business intelligence frameworks
- Evaluate data management, data quality, and data access processes for gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities, providing recommendations for improvement
- Implement solutions and processes for management and governance across data quality metrics, metadata, lineage, data access rights, and business definitions
- Develop data mapping to enable data end-users to more easily transition to using new systems
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree
- At least 1 year of experience with hands-on Snowflake SQL
- At least 1 year of experience with Python coding along with automation scripting skills
- At least 1 year of experience in querying, analyzing, and working with data languages and platforms
Desired skills: - Master's Degree or a degree specialized in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
- Previous experience in the financial services industry, particularly in a risk management, audit, or credit operational control domain
- Experience with Pyspark, Unix/Linux, and Github
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) products such as Quicksight and Snowflake
- Experience with BI tools such as Quicksight
- 1+ years of experience working within process management and improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- 1+ years of experience with data governance, data quality management concepts, and data quality tools
Pay range: $33.83 - $41.83 per hour
