DB2 z/OS DBA (W2 ONLY)

Candidate will provide DB2 for z/OS operational, maintenance and support , as well as other department initiatives. The Services will include:

• Break fix / existing maintenance
• Schema enhancements
• Ovation / MDDS data migration
• Encore and sunset tasks as determined
• Design and implement physical DB2 for z/OS database structures (tables, indexes, table spaces, partitions, LOBs) based on logical data models and application requirements.
• Perform installation, configuration, and version/patch management of DB2 for z/OS subsystems in coordination with system programmers (if in scope for the role).jobs.
• Execute routine database maintenance, including reorgs, RUNSTATS, image copies, and space management using IBM DB2 utilities and related tools.
• Monitor and tune database and SQL performance, including buffer pools, indexes, access paths, and locking, and advise developers on efficient SQL and schema design.
• Implement and regularly test backup and recovery strategies to meet Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) targets, including disaster recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot database incidents and service outages, performing rootcause analysis and corrective actions, including afterhours support when necessary.
• Manage security and access controls at the DB2 level (authorizations, privileges, roles) in alignment with enterprise security policies and RACF/TSS rules.ibm+2
• Support object deployment and change management across development, test, and production environments, following established release and change control processes.

ADDITIONAL ASSUMPTIONS

• Work may be performed during business hours or after hours as needed.
• Customer will make every effort to schedule after hours work at least one week in advance of need.
• Work will be provided remotely.
• Customer is requesting a minimum of 40 hours per week for support for 1 year.
• If the Customer requires a background check and/or additional screenings, they may initiate any additional checks through their own background program or agency.
