Graphic Designer

Description

We are looking for a talented Graphic Designer to join our team on a contract basis, supporting the creation of two high-priority publications. This role requires expertise in long-form publication design, with a focus on layout, visual consistency, and adherence to established brand guidelines. The position is based in Arlington, Virginia, and offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects within the non-profit sector.

Responsibilities:
Design and format long-form publications, ensuring visual consistency and high-quality layouts.
Apply established brand guidelines across all design elements to maintain uniformity.
Develop cohesive layouts for multi-section reports, incorporating provided content and imagery.
Create print-ready and digital-first designs, accommodating potential print requirements.
Design covers and overall visual systems for large-scale reports.
Manage deadlines independently while addressing feedback from leadership efficiently.
Support web page updates and digital layout work during lighter project periods.
Prepare design files for both digital distribution and potential printing requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure content readiness and alignment with project goals.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in graphic design, with a focus on long-form publications.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite.
Proven ability to design reports, books, or multi-section documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong time management skills to handle multiple deadlines and deliverables independently.
Experience in creating layouts that align with brand standards.
Familiarity with accessibility and readability considerations is a plus.
Experience working with non-profit or mission-driven organizations is preferred.
Web design or digital layout experience is an advantage.
