Overview
We are seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to support a mission critical Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) program within a secure federal environment. This role focuses on protecting systems and data by managing access controls, authentication mechanisms, and identity governance processes in alignment with established cybersecurity frameworks and government standards.
The Cyber Security Specialist will collaborate with cross functional technical teams to assess risk, enforce security policies, and respond to security incidents, ensuring that only authorized users have appropriate access to critical systems and information. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to strengthening enterprise security and supporting Zero Trust and access management initiatives in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Protect an organization''s information systems and assets from potential threats and breaches.
- Implement and manage security measures including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures aligned with industry standards.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.
- Handle incident response activities to address security breaches effectively.
- Stay updated on the latest security threats, trends, and best practices to enhance security posture.
- Contribute to maintaining a secure environment, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical information.
Requirements - Proven experience in cybersecurity, with relevant work experience.
- Proficiency with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS, and antivirus software.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards like ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS.
- Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Strong incident response and handling skills.
- Ability to stay current with emerging security threats and solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication skills for policy development and team collaboration.
- Security clearance of Secret is required.
Preferred Requirements - Experience supporting ICAM or access management initiatives in a federal or DoD environment.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust security concepts and access governance models.
- Knowledge of NIST standards related to identity and access control (e.g., NIST 800?53, 800?63)
