Business Analyst III

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Business Analyst III in New York, NY.

Overview:
The Business Analyst III is a senior-level analyst responsible for leading complex requirements discovery, business process analysis, and solution definition efforts across cross-functional teams. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring that business needs are translated into clear, actionable functional requirements that support strategic initiatives and enterprise transformation. A Business Analyst III operates with minimal supervision, owns large workstreams, mentors junior analysts, and influences delivery outcomes across multiple projects or product areas.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead requirements elicitation through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions
* Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and system interactions, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities
* Produce high-quality business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, and process flows
* Partner with product owners, architects, developers, and QA teams to ensure requirements are understood and delivered accurately
* Translate complex business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements
* Support Agile and/or Waterfall delivery models, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release support
* Perform impact analysis for system changes, enhancements, and regulatory requirements
* Validate solutions through UAT support, test case review, and defect triage
* Mentor Business Analyst I/II team members and provide guidance on best practices
* Communicate status, risks, and dependencies to leadership and stakeholders
* Contribute to process standardization and documentation standards across the organization

REQUIREMENTS:
* 6-8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst in enterprise environments
* Proven experience leading requirements for complex, cross-functional initiatives
* Strong expertise in requirements documentation techniques (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria)
* Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and/or Waterfall methodologies
* Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, or similar
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
