Job Description
Position Summary
The dual-focused role drives both system security integrity and business process optimization. As a Security Coordinator, this individual governs user access control, template mapping, and auditing across core databases (including Epic EMP/SER). As a Business Systems Analyst (Lvl 3), they will partner with technical and clinical stakeholders to plan, design, and launch efficient operational systems while aligning software functionality with business requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities
1. Data Security and Access Control (Security Coordinator)
Access Governance: Establish ownership of security classes; ensure user access strictly adheres to the principle of least privilege (authorized users access only what is necessary for their role).
Identity Lifecycle Management: Define and implement robust operational processes for onboarding new employees, offboarding terminated staff, and modifying access during role transitions.
Role and Template Mapping: Direct Application Support Analysts to map users to specific security templates. Map key data elements to Provider Records based on provider types.
Architecture and Collaboration: Partner with infrastructure teams and application analysts to deeply understand technical templates. Develop clinical workflow knowledge to accurately align security roles with clinical job functions.
Database and File Operations: Process incoming and outgoing data files for both EMP (User) and SER (Provider) databases accurately under tight deadlines.
Change Management: Develop rigorous procedures for creating new security roles, including formal review and approval workflows.
Support and Auditing: Provide Tier 2 troubleshooting for Epic and non-Epic data security tickets. Run compliance audit reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly cadence.
2. Systems Analysis and Project Execution
Requirements Liaison: Act as the strategic functional bridge between customers, internal development teams, and third-party vendors across the software development lifecycle.
Technical Specifications: Gather, analyze, and translate complex business needs into functional specifications, detailed workflows, and comprehensive test plans. Obtain formal client sign-off on requirements.
Issue and Change Tracking: Identify, track, and resolve system issues. Manage day-to-day project change requests to ensure strict deadlines are met.
Project Controls: Enforce project schedules, manage allocated resources, and apply organizational project standards.
Reporting: Compile weekly status updates for the Project Manager highlighting milestones, resource needs, risks, and dependencies.
Role Requirements
Education and Qualifications
Degree: Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related technical field.
An equivalent combination of training, education, and experience will be considered.
Experience and Skills
Professional Experience: Minimum of five years of progressive, responsible experience in data processing, computer systems, and application management.
Technical Acumen: Proficient understanding of application programming, database structures, system design, hardware capabilities, and data retrieval methodologies.
Operations Specialty: Requires five years of verified supervisory experience.
Network Services Specialty: Requires a dedicated telecommunications background.
Soft Skills: Outstanding problem-solving abilities, strong presentation skills, and the tactical communication style necessary to handle sensitive or difficult technical data with stakeholders.
