Description
We are looking for a skilled Power BI Developer to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Bartlett, Illinois. In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to design, develop, and implement Power BI dashboards and reports that support business objectives. Your expertise in data integration, modeling, and visualization will be essential to delivering high-quality solutions that enhance decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with IT teams, business process owners, and administrators to gather requirements and define key performance indicators (KPIs).
Analyze and identify relevant data sources and review existing reports to inform design decisions.
Connect to approved data sources and transform data using Power Query to create optimized data models.
Develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring user-friendly navigation and adherence to branding standards.
Configure workspace access and row-level security to maintain data integrity and control.
Publish reports across development, testing, and production environments in Power BI Service.
Validate report accuracy and ensure optimal performance through testing.
Support user acceptance testing and provide documentation for end-users.
Share knowledge and create detailed work instructions to facilitate process understanding and overcome challenges.
Deliver finalized datasets, dashboards, and accompanying documentation to stakeholders.
Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including report and dashboard development.
Strong skills in Power Query and data transformation techniques.
Experience with DAX technologies for data modeling and calculations.
Familiarity with configuring security settings such as row-level security.
Ability to design and optimize data models for usability and performance.
Expertise in connecting and integrating data from various sources.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
Experience in creating user documentation and providing knowledge transfer sessions.
