Job Posting: Automotive Wiring Release Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Automotive Wiring Release Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tracking and documenting open issues both internally and with customers, supporting and maintaining the customer part release system, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information provided by customers. This role requires a strong understanding of design and engineering principles to resolve product issues and manage design release costs.

Key Responsibilities:
Track and Document Issues: Monitor, track, and document open issues internally and with customers to ensure timely resolution.
Customer Part Release Support: Support and maintain the customer part release system and manage approval documents.
Evaluate Customer Information: Assess the completeness and accuracy of information provided by the customer as it applies to the product/project.
DFMEA Preparation: Prepare Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to identify potential failure modes and effects.
Product Issue Resolution: Resolve product issues related to both existing and new designs.
DVPR Utilization: Produce and utilize Design Verification Plan and Reports (DVPR) for product validation.
Customer Communication: Communicate the content and status of designs, design changes, and build requirements to customers.
Manage Design Release Costs: Oversee design release costs, including piece cost and tooling, ensuring cost-efficiency.
Prototype Evaluation: Evaluate prototype designs to verify functional requirements and conduct necessary design revisions.
On-time Delivery: Ensure parts are delivered on time and to specification by working closely with the manufacturing plant (including design review/inspections).

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
Proven experience in automotive wiring and release engineering.
Strong understanding of DFMEA and DVPR.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication skills to liaise with customers and internal teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.
