Boeing Information Technology Network Infrastructure Services is currently looking for an Associate or Mid-Level Network Designer to join their team in Huntsville, AL. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) business organization.

A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with IT Business Partners and BDS stakeholders to implement and maintain communications and network systems enabling the BDS business to meet their organizational and program goals.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Duties include: network design, equipment procurement, equipment configuration and installation, cable and wire design and implementation, network break-fix, security plan integration, equipment decommission and surplus, capital/expense planning to ensure that the programs have a secure communications network to perform program development and execution In support of program customer.
  • Includes, but not limited to, hardware and software support to Secure Network, Secure Voice and other non-standard system integration.
  • Includes support to security activities such as US government Risk Management Framework (RMF) Compliance, Security Evaluation Checklists, device sanitization, contamination cleanup, and support to the management of System Security Plans.
  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders and peers
  • Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving
  • Acts as the initial point of escalation for issues or challenges encountered by the team. Capable of effectively triaging and de-escalating issues with impacted parties
  • Some travel to remote sites required (approx. 10%)
  • Develops and executes project and process plans and implements policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates the Boeing Behaviors in a deliberate and observable way
  • This is 100% on-site. Telecommuting is not available.

Must have an active DOD Secret Clearance

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with Cisco Routers, Switches and IOS
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of LAN and WAN Networks
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with TCP/IP Network Protocols
  • Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with Cisco Routers, Switches and IOS
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with Design, Implementation and
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with TCP/IP Network Protocols
  • Experience with Palo Alto next generation firewall systems
  • Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 certification (Security+ preferred)
  • CCNA, CCNP or other Cisco Certification
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with COMSEC encryption devices
  • Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information, CI/FS Polygraph

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Associate: $82,800 - $101,200

Mid-Level: $101,700 - $124,300
