Job Title: Engineering Lab Operator

Job Location: Austin, TX

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $20.73hr - $25.73hr

Job Overview:

The candidate will play a vital role in driving engineering lab success by executing work orders and enabling critical debug activities. Working closely with engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will deliver high-quality testing, maximize tester utilization, and help accelerate key product development milestones.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is technically curious, highly dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering lab environment supporting both production work orders and engineering debug activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute prioritized work orders and manage product samples throughout the testing process in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support engineering debug activities by preparing systems, swapping units, collecting data, and following engineering instructions.
  • Track and document work order progress, issues, and completion details, while communicating equipment concerns and updates to supervisors and engineering teams.
  • Maintain accurate shift pass-downs and support inventory staging, sample preparation, and material handling to ensure seamless operations.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and operational requirements, maintain an organized work environment, and contribute to continuous improvement and cross-training initiatives.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in manufacturing, laboratory, semiconductor, electronics, or engineering support environment.
  • Familiarity with test equipment, troubleshooting, and engineering lab operations.
  • Experience supporting engineering validation, characterization, or debug activities.
  • Experience using work order management systems and electronic tracking tools.

Academic Credentials:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
