Position: Senior Tableau Developer

Location: Palo Alto, CA (100% Remote)

 

Job Description

 Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead Tableau report creation and dashboard architecture.
  • Design enterprise-grade Tableau dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting solutions.
  • Convert business requirements into scalable analytical solutions.
  • Work closely with Data Architects, Data Modelers, and Data Engineers to consume curated Gold-layer datasets.
  • Design certified, reusable Tableau published data sources over multi-fact dimensional models and conformed dimensions. 
  • Confirm fact grain, join and relationship behavior, aggregation logic, and drill-down paths.
  • Define KPI frameworks, business metrics, and reporting standards.
  • Implement complex calculations, LOD expressions, parameters, sets, table calculations, and reusable KPI logic
  • Optimize dashboard performance and query efficiency on Snowflake.
  • Implement row-level security and governed access controls.
  • Drive data validation, reconciliation, and reporting certification processes.
  • Mentor junior BI engineers and establish Tableau development standards.
  • Lead stakeholder walkthroughs, design reviews, sprint demonstrations, and defect triage.
  • Support controlled promotion across development, test, and production environments

Leadership and Communication

  • Ability to lead requirement and design workshops
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Ability to explain complex reporting logic to business and technical users
  • Experience mentoring developers and conducting peer reviews
  • Ability to manage design decisions, dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments
