Jobot is partnering with an established services company that helps major organizations manage complex procurement and expense challenges. Our client is building a new software platform to help its internal teams review invoices, validate contracts, and automate business processes.
We're seeking a Design Engineer to become the company's first dedicated internal design hire. This senior-to-staff-level individual contributor will have significant influence over product direction, user experience, and a growing design system.
You'll partner with business leaders, internal users, product management, and engineers to turn complex workflows into intuitive experiences. Your work will span discovery, prototyping, and implementation, using AI tools to help create working interfaces and reusable components.

We are on the hunt for a passionate, innovative, and experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our dynamic tech services team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is driven by the desire to create and improve user experiences. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our design and development initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to elevate our software solutions and services. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:
1. Play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of our tech services, ensuring they are user-friendly, effective, and appealing.
2. Work closely with our product management and engineering teams to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and experience.
3. Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
4. Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
5. Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
6. Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback to enhance and polish the design.
7. Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to achieve the best possible design solutions.
8. Keep up-to-date with the latest web design trends, techniques, and technologies.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in a similar role with a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills.
3. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Ruby on Rails is a must.
4. Experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
5. Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
6. Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
7. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
8. Strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple project priorities and deadlines.
10. A keen eye for aesthetics and details.
