Role OverviewWe are seeking traveling Data Center Technicians to join a Rapid Response Team supporting large-scale enterprise data center operations. This team focuses on break/fix support, deployments, decommissions, and troubleshooting, including work within high-density GPU environments. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on data center experience, is comfortable working independently, and is open to extensive travel.
Key Responsibilities- Remove network and power cabling as part of data center decommissioning efforts
- Run, label, stage, and remove power and networking cables (DBD removal only; no scanning required)
- Prepare, stage, install, troubleshoot, replace, and decommission hardware following established procedures
- Perform basic startups and shutdowns using written instructions, checklists, and standard operating procedures
- Conduct physical audits of data center assets
- Monitor systems for hardware failures or performance issues
- Respond to error conditions by troubleshooting, resolving issues, or escalating as needed
- Assist with testing and debugging new systems or deployments
- Use productivity tools (spreadsheets, reports, documentation) to track and support operations
Required Qualifications- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 5+ years of data center experience required
- Break/Fix
- Hardware deployments
- Troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of computer hardware, servers, and components
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel up to 75% nationally
Preferred Qualifications- 7+ years of dedicated data center technician experience
- Experience supporting large-scale or GPU-based deployments (nice to have, not required)
- Experience in IT infrastructure, networking, or systems administration
- Associate's degree in computer programming, IT, or equivalent technical training
Work Environment- Enterprise data center environments, some with limited on-site oversight
- Some locations may be under active construction

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Mount Pleasant, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
