Position: Senior Hadoop Administrator / Linux Platform Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Hadoop Administrator / Linux Platform Engineer with strong experience supporting large-scale Hadoop/Cloudera environments and enterprise Linux infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support large-scale Hadoop/Cloudera clusters, including production and non-production environments.

• Manage and maintain enterprise RHEL 8.x/9.x Linux servers, including patching, upgrades, security remediation, and system hardening.

• Monitor Hadoop cluster health, performance, capacity, and availability.

• Perform Linux server provisioning, configuration, lifecycle management, and infrastructure maintenance.

• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Ansible, BladeLogic, and Bash/Shell scripting.

• Manage Linux filesystems and storage, including LVM, XFS, and performance tuning.

• Troubleshoot complex Hadoop and Linux infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis.

• Support high-availability, mission-critical Big Data platforms in an enterprise environment.

• Ensure infrastructure compliance with security, vulnerability management, and audit requirements.

• Collaborate with distributed/global infrastructure and application teams.

• Support modernization initiatives involving Docker/OpenShift and cloud platforms.

Required Skills:

• Strong Hadoop & Cloudera Administration experience

• Expert-level Red Hat Linux/RHEL 8.x/9.x administration

• Ansible and/or BladeLogic

• Bash/Shell scripting

• LVM, XFS, and Linux storage management

• Enterprise-scale infrastructure administration

• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

• Experience supporting highly available production environments

Preferred: Experience with large Hadoop environments (1000+ nodes), Docker/OpenShift, cloud platforms, and banking/financial services environments.
