Job Title: Oracle DBA

Location: Lansing, MI (Onsite/Hybrid)

Duration: 12 Months

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to provide infrastructure support for complex, enterprise-level database environments. This role ensures stability, performance, and availability of multiple Oracle databases supporting critical applications.

The position operates in a 24x7 support environment (no mandatory on-call). Occasional after-hours support may be required and will be compensated if approved.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support for Oracle databases (18c and above) across development, test, and production environments
Evaluate impacts of changes, recommend solutions, and act as liaison with external teams
Enforce database standards, policies, and procedures
Monitor database performance, integrity, and availability
Perform space management, capacity planning, and disk allocation
Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database software, patches, and upgrades
Support High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments
Monitor alert logs, trace files, and database jobs; troubleshoot issues and outages
Execute scripts for database object creation and modifications
Support replication, backup, and clustered database environments
Maintain and update system documentation

Required Qualifications

15+ years of Oracle DBA experience (Oracle 18c or higher)
5+ years of experience creating and maintaining system documentation
Strong experience with HA and DR solutions
Experience with database replication and backup strategies
Experience supporting clustered database environments
Proven experience monitoring production systems and troubleshooting issues

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with state government environments
