Randstad Digital is seeking a Mid-Level Cloud Engineer to support a high-profile federal program in Washington, DC. In this role, you will architect, build, and optimize public cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and AWS while supporting enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity offering a key position within a dynamic DevOps and infrastructure team.

responsibilities:
Configure and maintain cloud environment infrastructure, including Azure Subscriptions, Resource Groups, VNETs, App Services, and AWS Accounts, IAM Roles, VPCs, and Transit Gateways.
Build and maintain automation platforms using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, PowerShell, and Python.
Coordinate the change, release, patching, and operational support for enterprise Mail and MDM services (Microsoft O365, Exchange, Intune with Apple Business Manager).
Collaborate with external development teams to evaluate and implement cloud workload architectures within agency AWS and Azure environments.
Perform operational support tasks, fulfill role-based access requests, monitor cloud security posture, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Draft and maintain architectural designs, SOPs, work instructions, licensing, and operational knowledge articles.
qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience deploying and managing workloads in AWS or Microsoft Azure.
7+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience across compute, network, and storage domains.
Direct experience managing and supporting dual Microsoft Exchange and Google Workspace enterprise environments.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance ( with 3+ years of continuous U.S. residency).
Ability to work 100% onsite in Washington, DC.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience automating infrastructure deployments using Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, or PowerShell.
Industry certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, or Microsoft 365 Certified.
Familiarity with containerization systems and container hardening practices.
