Position: Systems Operations Engineer/ System Engineer
Location: Woodbridge Township, New Jersey
Duration: 12 months Contract
Job Overview: In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Systems Operations Engineering. You will review and analyze multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term Systems Operations Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Additionally, you will contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring a solid understanding of function policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to meet deliverables. Strategic collaboration and consultation with client personnel will also be a key aspect of this role.
Responsibilities: - Provide support for complex technical issues and initiatives related to assigned applications, systems, databases, and/or other technical products and services.
- Use diagnostic and other tools to maintain, troubleshoot, and restore service or data to systems.
- Evaluate service level agreement criteria and identify gaps in current technology processes.
- Participate in migrations from development to production, upgrades, installations, and/or configurations.
- Write queries to extract data and validate data loads.
- Complete project sizing, update/write documentation and procedures, and assist with related training.
- Troubleshoot network, hardware, and software issues using general guidelines, templates, or direction from others.
- Participate in writing test scripts and maintain change or issue logs.
- Analyze performance trends and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications: - 5 years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux, Tomcat, and other middleware.
- Strong troubleshooting acumen.
- Preferred knowledge of ServiceNow, Splunk, Grafana, Excel, Power BI, and Python.
- Understands quality, security, and compliance requirements for supported areas and reviews changes for risk to production systems.
- Participates in testing and updating the business continuation plan.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Pay Range: $60.00 - 65.00
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
