Job Title : Data Architect

Location: Quincy, MA (3-4 days a week Hybrid onsite)

Duration : Long Term

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Lead data architecture design for enterprise-scale applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technical standards, and cloud strategy.
Collaborate with application, platform, and infrastructure teams to integrate data solutions across AWS cloud and on-prem environments.
Define logical and physical data models, data flows, and integration patterns supporting batch, streaming, APIs, and microservices architectures.
Architect and govern cloud-native data platforms using AWS services and Databricks for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML enablement.
Ensure data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX, PCI, GDPR where applicable) are embedded into the architecture by design.
Partner closely with client stakeholders to assess the current-state data landscape and propose scalable, resilient, and cost-effective target architectures.
Guide implementation teams on architectural best practices, performance optimization, and cloud cost management.

Required Skills & Experience:

8+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering lead roles.
Strong expertise in AWS cloud data services, including (but not limited to):

S3, Glue, Lake Formation
Redshift, Athena
Kinesis, MSK, Lambda, Step Functions

Hands-on experience designing and implementing Databricks Lakehouse architectures (Delta Lake, Spark, structured streaming, Unity Catalog preferred).
Deep understanding of data lakes, data warehousing, and modern analytics architectures.
Proficiency with data modeling tools and techniques (ER/Studio, dbt, dimensional & domain-driven modeling).
Strong experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, integrating data via APIs, event-driven patterns, and microservices.
Experience working in hybrid architectures (cloud + on-prem).
