Role Overview
We are seeking a technician for a manufacturing Test Engineering lab. This role involves maintaining lab equipment, infrastructure, and processes. The successful candidate will assemble, test, and troubleshoot prototypes and test fixtures, in addition to supporting failure analysis and general lab management duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair lab equipment and coordinate maintenance for DVT chambers.
- Upgrade and track lab infrastructure.
- Maintain and update lab processes, policies, and procedures.
- Assemble, test, verify, troubleshoot, and rework prototypes.
- Assemble, test, verify, and troubleshoot test fixtures, cabling, and adapters.
- Perform failure analysis support for manufacturing partners and field organizations.
- Assist with lab management duties, including system installation and procurement of supplies. Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. is required.
- Operate thermal test chambers, monitor tests, and support users.
- Perform all job functions in adherence to established quality practices.
- Provide support to remote partners as needed, which may require some travel.
Required Qualifications
Education: AS in Electronics or an equivalent is required.
Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role working on complex electronic assemblies is required. This includes recent experience with lab equipment calibration, asset tracking, budget planning, and lab processes.
Technical Skills:- Strong knowledge of basic electronics, digital, and analog theory.
- Excellent failure analysis troubleshooting skills of complex circuitry to the component level.
- Excellent solder rework skills, including fine pitch SMT components.
- Proficiency with power and hand tools, including drills and wire crimping tools.
- Proficiency with test and debug equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies, and boundary scan tools.
- Familiarity with component programming software and inspection equipment.
- Experience with UNIX, Linux, Windows, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
- Familiarity with document control, schematics, and BOMs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Agile is a plus.
- Telecommunications product experience is a plus.
