BGS P-8 Systems Engineering Manager

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a
Systems Engineering Manager to lead the BGS P-8 Systems Engineering teams in
Tukwila, WA. This position will focus on supporting our Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization and have overall responsibility for all engineering integration activities, including Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Analysis and Ground Health Management System (GHMS) teams through analysis and development, maintaining FAA Continued Airworthiness while also developing, proposing and executing modification programs for the United States Navy & International P-8 fleet.
This management position will manage a group of engineers, to include Reliability & Maintainability, Ground Health Management Systems and customer focused project engineers; as well as product support sustaining engineers.
Position Responsibilities:- Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering.
- Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
- Manages, develops and motivates employees.
- Represents site engineering as the internal and external contact to the P-8 Program Engineering leadership.
- Acquires resources for projects and processes and leads process improvements. Achieves goals for cost, schedule, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Keeps program leadership team informed by communicating daily status, metrics, progress to plan and listening to employee concerns and suggestions.
- Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations.
- The candidate must be able to perform in a fast-paced, diverse work environment with excellent team work and communication skills.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 1+ years of experience managing and/or leading engineering teams
- 5+ years of engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Previous experience in military commercial derivative aircraft (CDA) engineering required.
- Engineering expertise and knowledge of systems with emphasis in CDA Sustainment, analysis, repairs and modification programs, R&M Top Degraders, Health Management Systems and or Project Management preferred.
- Experience as a CAM (cost account manager) in EVM (earned value management)
- Experience using Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) and processes
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience with mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams of junior and peer engineers.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
