Here, you'll do more than join something - you'll add something\\n\\nThe Software Architecture team within the Vision Products Group is composed of architects and system software experts who are building the foundational technologies for a diverse set of revolutionary experiences, including FaceTime, Spatial Personas, Mac Virtual Display, Siri, and more. Our charter involves the entire product lifecycle, from initial hardware ideation through final release, with a focus on developing the frameworks that power some of our most beloved features\\n\\nWe are seeking an exceptional senior software engineer to help architect and implement cross-device frameworks and APIs for our platforms. This engineer will enhance the capabilities and performance of Vision products through the development of distributed systems and frameworks with a broad range of applications, including distributed AIML and real-time multimedia processing and transport. We are seeking an individual to help build frameworks to enable a new class of networked services and applications that will define the future of connected experiences on our platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong programming skills in addition to experience creating foundational frameworks and APIs. You will apply your working knowledge of networking and systems programming to craft innovative approaches to multimedia streaming, distributed AI workloads, and computer vision based applications. \n\nIn addition to strong network programming skills, we expect you to bring unique expertise in at least one of the following fields: real-time media compression and transport, AIML, or distributed systems. You will build solutions with performance as a primary consideration, carefully balancing system tradeoffs such as power consumption, latency, and computational efficiency, while ensuring maximum privacy, security, and exceptional user experience. Past experience developing for resource constrained systems is a plus.\n\nIn addition to work on framework development, this role also offers the unique opportunity to prototype new services and applications, as well as deep collaboration with other teams throughout Apple.

6+ years of developing software frameworks and APIs\nExcellent working knowledge of network programming\nStrong understanding of network protocols and frameworks (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, QUIC)\nExperience in multimedia, AIML, and/or distributed systems\nTrack record of mobile device and embedded development \nExperience writing daemons and/or multi-threaded software\nWorking knowledge of system level programming concepts\nStrong command of object-oriented programming (Swift / C++ preferred)\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of data-driven architectural decisions\nFamiliarity with Gen AI coding tools. Demonstrated ability to use them for design, code generation, and debugging\nExcellent communication and presentation skills\nBS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience with wireless connectivity standards and best practices\nExperience or interest in real-time media transport (e.g. WebRTC)\nExperience developing for resource constrained systems\nExperience or interest in AR/VR applications\nExperience with iOS / macOS application development
