Data Analyst

Description

We are looking for a Data Analyst to support reporting, audience targeting, and data-driven decision-making for a manufacturing organization in Diamond Bar, California. This Long-term Contract position partners closely with business stakeholders to translate operational goals into meaningful reports, reliable datasets, and actionable audience lists. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with SQL and Excel, and the ability to communicate clearly while maintaining high standards for data accuracy.

Responsibilities:
Partner with business teams to gather reporting needs, clarify audience outreach objectives, and turn those needs into practical data solutions.
Develop and refine reports, datasets, and audience lists that help stakeholders measure performance and support business priorities.
Write and troubleshoot SQL queries across multiple tables, using joins and backend reporting techniques to extract accurate information.
Pull, validate, and organize data from platforms such as Salesforce and marketing-related systems to support analysis and campaign targeting.
Perform data validation checks and investigate quality issues to improve confidence in reporting outputs and audience segmentation.
Use advanced Excel functions, including PivotTables and lookup formulas, to analyze trends, reconcile data, and present findings clearly.
Build targeted audience segments and list selections based on defined business rules, data attributes, and outreach requirements.
Communicate proactively with cross-functional partners to provide status updates, resolve issues quickly, and ensure deliverables align with expectations.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in a data analyst or similar analytical role, with mid-level experience handling reporting and data support responsibilities.
Strong SQL skills, including multi-table queries, joins, troubleshooting, and backend report development.
Experience generating reports and extracting data from Salesforce and/or comparable marketing automation platforms such as Marketo or Nimble.
Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and data analysis techniques.
Proven ability to validate data, resolve data quality issues, and maintain accuracy across reporting outputs.
Experience with audience segmentation, list creation, and data preparation for outreach or marketing-related initiatives.
Effective communication skills with a proactive approach to working with business users and managing requests.
Familiarity with SQL reporting tools such as SSRS or SQL Server Business Intelligence is preferred.
