Business Intelligence Engineer (Sigma, SQL)

12-Month Contract | Hybrid Onsite (Minneapolis preferred; Nashville optional) | No Sponsorship

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer for a 12-month contract to support high-priority reporting and analytics initiatives, including a hard July 1 enterprise data integration milestone. This role is highly execution-focused and ideal for a self-directed, delivery-oriented contractor who can own dashboards and reporting end-to-end while collaborating with business and technical partners. Onsite presence is expected 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using Sigma Computing

• Develop and optimize SQL-based data models in collaboration with data and engineering teams

• Translate business requirements into scalable, accurate reporting solutions

• Partner with business analysts in Nashville to gather requirements and validate outputs

• Deliver reporting tied to a July 1 enterprise data integration deadline

• Perform ad hoc analysis and data exploration

• Document reporting logic, data definitions, and analytical workflows

• Automate recurring internal and external reports to reduce manual effort and improve reliability

Qualifications

• Strong SQL experience in a professional analytics or data reporting role

• Hands-on experience with BI/reporting tools, preferably Sigma Computing

• Proven ability to independently deliver end-to-end dashboards and reports

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven contract environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar BI platforms

• Exposure to Snowflake and/or dbt (or ability to ramp quickly)

• Experience working with financial, transactional, or product data

• Familiarity with commercial real estate or investment analytics

• Highly self-directed, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight
