Job Description:
Provides technical and/or budget/financial support for the project including reviewing contract documents for a technical aspect and reviewing plant design criteria, drawings, and specifications. Responsible for contractor monitoring and oversight of assigned work. Primary responsibility will include route development, refinement, field visits to verify to support overall pre-construction preparation for energy projects.Functional understanding of the key criteria used to develop routing criteria across functions such as cost, engineering concerns, and common environmental constraints is expected. Candidate should also have experience with route refinement using value engineering or other applicable concepts to optimize criteria for late-stage activities including permitting prior to construction. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills, experience performing routing and siting tradeoff decisions in the presence of uncertainty, the ability to identify and evaluate routing risks with input from subject matter experts, and ability to problem-solve within highly regulated permitting requirements. Applicant will need to be equally comfortable communicating or discussing risks with various subject matter experts including Engineering & Construction, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land. The ability to be both detail-oriented and maintain sight of the larger vision are key criteria for successful candidates. Travel within the US is expected approximately 25%.Education: Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Relevant Experience: 11 - 15 years of experience managing technical aspects of routing, siting, and construction projects.Responsibilities: Develops routing criteria, ensures compliance with cost, engineering, and environmental considerations, and leads coordination between technical teams. Provides oversight for route refinement and supports value engineering and permitting activities.Other: Strong communication skills required to coordinate with subject matter experts across Engineering & Construction, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land.
