An engineering degree is not required. What matters is that you can currently program Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs and VFDs, communicate clearly in English, and are willing to travel 1020% of the time. You should be able to troubleshoot electrical wiring and PLC programs on both new and existing systems. You dont need to write programs from scratch, but you do need to be able to commission systems with minimal supervision that means making PLC, HMI, and SCADA changes, handling basic networking
