An engineering degree is not required. What matters is that you can currently program Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs and VFDs, communicate clearly in English, and are willing to travel 10–20% of the time.
You should be able to troubleshoot electrical wiring and PLC programs on both new and existing systems. You don''''t need to write programs from scratch, but you do need to be able to commission systems with minimal supervision — that means making PLC, HMI, and SCADA changes, handling basic networking tasks, and programming VFDs independently.
The Practical Test
If you can get a VFD, PLC, and HMI communicating with each other — including turning the VFD on/off, forward/reverse, and controlling speed — within 8 hours on your own, you''''ve got the job. You will be tested on this at our office before you are hired.
Compensation
- Starting pay: $25–$35/hour, depending on experience
- $100/day travel bonus with all travel expenses covered
- Performance bonuses
Important Notes
We currently have several engineers working remotely and are not looking to add any more remote positions. This role requires on-site presence both in our office and at customer sites for commissioning work.
We are E-Verify certified and are open to sponsorship assistance, but only for candidates who are already authorized to work in the United States and can do so for a minimum of 6 months. We will not sponsor anyone who does not currently have U.S. work authorization.
