Job Description
We are seeking a Platform Engineer I (FX Technology) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in application support, testing, SQL, automation, and platform operations and a proven ability to learn complex trading platforms, resolve production issues, and enhance reliability through automation.
Responsibilities:
- Learn FX trading products, workflows, and business processes to support mission-critical platforms.
- Support Aphelion, WallStreet Systems (WSS), Caplin, and related integrations and downstream applications.
- Participate in day-to-day application support under senior engineer guidance, including monitoring and incident response.
- Assist with functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing, including test plan creation and execution.
- Document testing results and partner with developers and business users to resolve defects and validate releases.
- Investigate and troubleshoot production incidents, support root cause analysis, and document recurring issues.
- Use SQL to query, analyze, and troubleshoot application and business data, including validation and reconciliation.
- Develop skills with databases, APIs, integrations, and cloud technologies to support platform improvements.
- Identify and implement automation for manual processes, including scripts, utilities, and workflow improvements.
- Support automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate troubleshooting, documentation, testing, and development.
- Collaborate with technology, operations, and business partners and communicate issues, risks, and progress.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing sessions to build strong relationships.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, or related technical field.
- 0-3 years of technology experience in application support, QA, or software engineering.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases for analysis and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and organization.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Preferred Skills:
- Internship or co-op experience in software development, technology operations, infrastructure, or application support.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle concepts and Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Exposure to Python, Java, .NET, JavaScript, REST APIs, and Git.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Interest in financial markets, trading systems, or banking technology.
