A technically proficient BIA who can bridge business and technical teams, drive discovery and documentation efforts, coordinate testing and migration activities, and help ensure a successful transition to Snowflake, Power BI, ADF, the cloud
Looking for a Business Information Analyst (BIA) to support the CRDM migration from on-prem SQL Server to Snowflake, including ETL, semantic model, reporting, and downstream consumer migrations. This will be a lift and shift migration.
Key Responsibilities
• Create inventories and track migration processes of:
◦ Database tables, views, attributes, stored procedures, and code
◦ SSIS packages migrating to ADF
◦ SSAS cubes, dimensions, and measures migrating to Power BI
◦ Reports and reporting dependencies
◦ Downstream consumer systems (e.g., SAS, Moody’s, internal applications)
• Partner with business users to identify:
◦ What data assets, reports, and queries are actively used
◦ Opportunities to retire unused assets
• Develop and maintain:
◦ Data Dictionary
◦ Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM)
◦ Data lineage and dependency documentation
• Oversee:
◦ UAT planning, execution, defect tracking, and signoff. QA resource will co-lead here.
◦ Report validation and migration readiness
◦ The whole report and query rebuild processes. Our dev resources will assist with technical support here.
◦ Consumer system migration activities
• Track project inventories, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and status throughout the migration lifecycle.
Desired Skills
• Experience with data warehouse/ analytic migrations
• Strong BIA/BSA experience supporting data warehouse or analytics projects
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, Snowflake, SSIS, ADF, SSAS, and Power BI
• Experience with data mapping, lineage, requirements gathering, and documentation
• Strong stakeholder management, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience running UAT process
