Product Manager – Payments

Role Summary
The Intersect Group is seeking a Product Manager to drive critical payment initiatives focused on fuel and point-of-sale (POS) environments. This role will lead the onboarding and integration of new payment interfaces, including emerging solutions such as gift card processors and other payment technologies.
You will own product strategy and execution for key payment integrations, working closely with engineering, payment partners, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless, compliant solutions. This position requires a strong product professional who can manage complex technical integrations, prioritize effectively, and guide cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the onboarding and integration of new payment interfaces across fuel and POS environments.
- Own product roadmap, prioritization, and delivery for payment-related initiatives.
- Act as the product owner within an Agile framework, managing backlog and driving sprint execution.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on card-present payment processing and industry requirements.
- Partner with engineering teams to define APIs, system integrations, and product architecture impacts.
- Collaborate with payment processors, card networks, and internal stakeholders to align requirements and ensure compliance.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements, ensuring scalable and efficient solutions.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across device teams, payment teams, and external vendors.
Key Requirements
- 5–7 years of product management experience, with ownership of complex, technical products.
- Proven experience with card-present payment processing, including POS-to-processor integrations.
- Strong experience managing payment integrations, APIs, and system interoperability.
- Hands-on experience as an Agile Product Owner, including backlog management and sprint planning.
- Demonstrated ability to build product roadmaps and prioritize competing initiatives effectively.
- Strong understanding of payment ecosystem requirements (card brands, processors, EMV standards).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with multiple concurrent initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within retail fuel or convenience retail environments.
- CSPO certification or similar Agile credentials.
- Experience working with multiple payment processors or large-scale payment ecosystems.
