Senior SAP PS/PPM Business Transformation Consultant

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior SAP Project Systems and Portfolio & Project Management (PS/PPM) Consultant to lead process assessment, transformation, and standardization within a large-scale S/4HANA post-migration optimization program. The ideal candidate brings deep SAP PS/PPM expertise, experience in development finance or public sector environments, and the ability to drive standardization across complex, highly customized landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
Assess the current PS/PPM landscape, including WBS elements, networks, milestones, project budgeting, cost/revenue planning, billing plans, and portfolio management, identifying custom solutions that can be replaced by standard S/4HANA capabilities.
Lead transformation workshops with project management, finance, operations, and executive stakeholders to document current processes and design optimized To-Be processes.
Evaluate SAP PS capabilities, including Project Builder, project hierarchies, cost assignments, results analysis, settlement, and integration with PPM.
Partner with ABAP developers to assess custom Z-developments, including approval workflows, billing logic, reporting, and portfolio tools, and determine retrofit or decommission strategies.
Design standardized processes for project structuring, budgeting, execution tracking, billing, and financial settlement, integrated with FM and GM.
Identify opportunities to leverage SAP AI, embedded analytics, and automation for predictive project analytics, resource optimization, milestone forecasting, and reporting.
Ensure integration between PS/PPM and FI/CO, FM, GM, and P2P to maintain financial integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
Produce fit-gap analyses, functional specifications, and solution design documentation.
Deliver high-quality results under aggressive timelines across a complex, multi-workstream environment.
Required Qualifications
8-10+ years of SAP Project Systems (PS) consulting experience with hands-on S/4HANA on-premise implementation or transformation experience.
Deep expertise in PS configuration, including project structures, WBS/network management, planning and budgeting, results analysis, milestone billing, settlement, and period-end processing.
Working knowledge of SAP Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) and integration with PS and FM.
Strong understanding of PS integration with FI/CO, FM, GM, and MM/AP.
Experience with post-brownfield custom code rationalization and PS process standardization.
Experience in banking, financial services, multilateral/development finance, or comparable public sector environments.
Familiarity with public sector project governance, budget compliance, and donor reporting requirements.
Proven ability to independently lead transformation workshops with executive and operational stakeholders.
Experience partnering with ABAP developers to assess and challenge custom PS/PPM enhancements.
Experience with AI-based transformation tools and methodologies.
Excellent communication skills across business, executive, and technical teams.
Ability to deliver successfully in high-pressure, multi-workstream environments with tight timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PPM portfolio governance for development or public sector programs.
Knowledge of SAP Fiori applications for project management and PS.
Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud for portfolio reporting and dashboards.
Familiarity with Agile frameworks and SAP PS milestone tracking.
SAP Project Systems or relevant S/4HANA certification preferred.
