Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Pega Business Architect (BA) to drive a large scale end to end digital transformation program. This role will provide strategic direction, functional leadership, and delivery oversight across three cross functional teams consisting of Pega UI developers and Pega integration engineers.
The ideal candidate will serve as the critical liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that Pega solutions are designed, built, and delivered to achieve measurable business outcomes.
Pega Business Architects are key contributors to well designed Pega applications and serve as the bridge between business and IT, bringing the client's needs and platform capabilities together.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Transformation
Lead, mentor, and guide three agile teams (Pega UI development, Pega integration engineering) to deliver high quality Pega applications and workflow automation solutions. Role expectations include providing technical and functional direction similar to senior lead Pega BA roles.
Shape and drive the overall transformation roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and enterprise architecture standards.
Act as the primary communication channel-translating business objectives into actionable technical requirements and clearly explaining technical constraints back to the business.
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation activities, ensuring complete traceability across BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows. Pega BAs are responsible for gathering business process details, business needs, and strategic outcomes before solution design.
Conduct Direct Capture of Objectives (DCO) workshops to capture business rules, UI requirements, and process flows using Pega App Studio.
Translate complex business requirements into optimized Pega workflows, case management structures, integration specifications, and decisioning strategies.
Solution Design & Delivery
Partner with Pega Lead System Architects and engineering leads to define solution architecture, integration design, and UI/UX strategies across the transformation program.
Review and validate Pega rules, UI components, APIs, and integration flows to ensure solutions meet business needs and adhere to Pega best practices. Pega architects commonly oversee design, documentation, and adherence to standards.
Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand ups, and sprint reviews. Pega implementation teams typically follow Agile/Scrum frameworks.
Develop and maintain functional documentation, test case guidance, process flows, and wireframes to support delivery and end user adoption.
Stakeholder Management
Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, facilitating workshops, driving consensus, and ensuring alignment across business and IT teams.
Guide leadership in defining business and technical strategies and refine priorities to meet program objectives.
Quality Assurance & Governance
Ensure requirements management and change control best practices are followed, including versioning and artifact traceability.
Participate in test planning and execution, validating that Pega rules, UIs, and integrations meet acceptance criteria and perform as expected.

Required Qualifications
Pega Certified Business Architect (PCBA or PCSBA) with 5-10+ years of Pega BA experience; certification and multi year experience are typically required for lead roles.
Proven experience leading multi team Pega delivery efforts, including developers, analysts, and integrators.
Strong understanding of Pega methodologies, case lifecycle design, rules, data types, integrations, decision management, Pega Blueprint and Pega App Studio usage.
Demonstrated experience managing requirements across the full SDLC and working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical solutions to business users and vice versa.

Experience in enterprise level digital transformation programs within insurance, financial services, or similar domains.
Background in workflow redesign, change management, or business process optimization
