Project Overview:
The Senior Manager of Finance Reporting Strategy is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise-wide reporting vision for Finance. This leader will drive the strategic roadmap, architecture, and operating model for financial reporting across ERP, EPM, and data platforms. The role partners closely with Finance, IT, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure reporting is accurate, governed, automated, scalable, and aligned to a single source of truth. This role is highly technical and will shape how data flows, transforms, and is consumed across SAP/S4, SAC, Snowflake, Tableau, and other analytical platforms.
Qualifications:
- You have 10+ years in Finance Reporting, Data & Analytics, or Finance Systems, with hands-on architectural and technical experience.
- Should have Should have Deep knowledge of ERP reporting (SAP preferred), data warehousing, financial data models, and BI/analytics platforms.
- Must have Strong SQL and data modelling background familiarity with Snowflake, DBT, ELT pipelines, and semantic layer design.
- Must have Experience implementing reporting in multi-system environments (ERP + EPM + BI).
- Must have Strong understanding of financial processes (Record-to-Report, FP&A, Revenue, etc.).
- Should have Executive communication, business partnering, and stakeholder influence skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Roadmap
- Develop the enterprise Finance reporting strategy, including platform direction (ERP vs EPM vs Data Warehouse), self-service vision, architecture principles, and data governance approach.
- Build and maintain the 2–3 year reporting roadmap aligned to financial close, controllership, FP&A, and business transformation initiatives.
- Define reporting standards, certification rules, metric definitions, and “golden data” consumption models.
- Architecture, Data & Technical Ownership
- Partner with Data Engineering to design reporting data models, semantic layers, and reusable data products in Snowflake or equivalent cloud warehouse.
- Define integration standards for financial data flows between SAP/S4, EPM (e.g., SAC/Anaplan), and BI tools (Tableau/PowerBI).
- Lead the development of KPI frameworks, calculation logic, dimensional models, data lineage, metadata, and reconciliation rules.
- Ensure reporting aligns with SOX, audit, and compliance requirements.
- Execution & Delivery
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of finance reporting products—from requirements and design through delivery and support.
- Drive automation and reduce manual Excel-based reporting through modern engineering practices (ELT, dbt, CI/CD for data, governed self-service, etc.).
- Oversee backlog management, sprint planning, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment.
- Governance & Quality
- Establish data quality SLAs and lead root cause analysis for reporting inconsistencies.
- Chair reporting and metric governance forums to ensure consistency, standardization,
- Maintain a governed, documented, and auditable metrics catalog and data dictionary.
- Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Controllership, FP&A, Revenue, and CFO leadership to understand analytical needs and translate them into scalable reporting solutions.
- Support change management, training, and adoption plans to embed new reporting behaviors.
