Market Data Business Analyst - Contract - Remote EST Hours - SOLID MARKET DATA EXPERIENCE IN FINANCIAL SERVICES IS REQUIRED
Overview We are seeking a
Market Data Business Analyst / Data Analyst to support initiatives within a market data and security master environment. This individual will play a key role in analyzing market data systems, documenting data and system flows, and helping design scalable solutions across platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, and LSEG (Refinitiv).
This is an ideal opportunity for a technically strong junior-level analyst who presents well, communicates effectively, and can operate independently while continuing to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and document market data systems and data flows, particularly within a Security Master environment
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into structured documentation
- Create detailed process flows, system diagrams, and data mapping documentation
- Evaluate and analyze data sourced from platforms such as:
- Bloomberg
- FactSet
- LSEG / Refinitiv
- Support system enhancement initiatives by identifying gaps and recommending improvements
- Assist in designing solutions within a data-centric systems environment
- Ensure clarity and traceability between business requirements, data flows, and technical implementation
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, presenting findings and documentation clearly
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with market data platforms (Bloomberg, FactSet, LSEG/Refinitiv)
- Understanding of market data within a Security Master framework
- Experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Systems Analyst in a data-heavy environment
- Strong ability to document:
- Data flows
- System flows
- Process diagrams (Visio, Lucidchart, etc.)
- Experience gathering and structuring requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to self-manage and work independently
