Job Title: Production Support

Location: Charlotte NC

Duration: 12 months

Payrate: $65.00 - 70.24/hr

Role and Responsibilities

This resource is a critical Hadoop role which supports multiple Hadoop platforms at the bank.

Full Cloudera software stack experience in a 24x7 production environment

6+ years of experience with Cloudera implementations

Proactively monitoring database performance and troubleshooting issues

Optimize queries, fix performance bottlenecks, improve existing schemas and design new ones

Able to create various Cloudera Clustering configurations

Creating and maintaining change control and testing processes, reviewing and approving database modifications

Able to create enterprise backups and restore procedures

Creating and maintaining documentation, troubleshooting playbooks, testing failover and recovery plans

BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Exceptional SQL development and performance tuning skills

Experience architecting a large-scale production database platform

Expertise with Cloudera system metrics and optimization strategies

Familiarity with system level metrics and practical use of common Linux utilities

Mastery of one or more of the following scripting languages: Python, Bash, etc

Understanding of virtualization and clustered environments

Great communication skills and the ability for both teaching and learning
