Ideal Candidate Hands-on Android engineer with production Jetpack Compose experience, mobile performance expertise, and experience shipping large-scale consumer applications What You'll Be Working On: - Designing and building feature modules in Kotlin with clean architecture (MVVM/MVI) clear boundaries, testable units, independent delivery
- Building declarative UI in Jetpack Compose state hoisting, recompositing performance, custom layouts, and interop with legacy Views
- Managing async and reactive state with Coroutines and Flow structured concurrency, backpressure, and lifecycle-aware collection
- Integrating with backend services (REST/GraphQL/gRPC), offline caching, and secure local storage
- Owning app performance cold start, Jank/frame time, memory, and APK/bundle size against measurable targets
- Building and maintaining automated test suites (unit, UI/Espresso/Compose testing, screenshot tests) that catch regressions before they reach production
- Deploying through CI/CD pipelines with staged rollouts, feature flags, and crash/ANR monitoring
- Instrumenting the app for observability analytics, tracing, and crash reporting that surface failures fast
- Participating in design and architecture reviews; your decisions affect other feature teams downstream
- Debugging the hard things: lifecycle edge cases, memory leaks, threading/concurrency bugs, and device fragmentation issues
What We're Looking For Android Engineering DepthDeep Kotlin expertise coroutines, Flow, structured concurrency
Jetpack Compose production experience state management, recompositing performance, and interop with legacy Views
Strong grasp of Android architecture components: View Model, Navigation, Room, Work Manager, Datastore
Performance and Quality Experience profiling and optimizing cold start, frame rendering, and memory
Automated testing discipline: JUnit, Espresso, Compose UI tests, screenshot/regression testing
Familiarity with performance tooling: Android Studio Profiler, Perfetto, Baseline Profiles, Macrobenchmark
Backend and Integration Fluency Experience with networking stacks (Retrofit/OkHttp), serialization, and API contract design
Offline-first patterns, caching, and local persistence
Secure storage, auth/token handling, and mobile security fundamentals
Delivery and Infrastructure CI/CD for mobile: GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Gradle build optimization
Staged rollouts, feature flags, and Play Store release management
Crash/ANR monitoring and an operational mindset you look at dashboards, you set alerts, you write runbooks
