Job Overview: The Distribution Operations DER Engineer III will play a critical role in supporting the development and management of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) programs. This hybrid role requires a strong background in data programming, computer programming, and DER standards. The position involves working on-site at the Lehigh Service Center or Walbert in Pennsylvania from Tuesday to Thursday, with remote work on Monday and Friday.
Responsibilities: - Plan and evaluate system impacts of Distributed Energy Resources (DER).
- Apply DER standards, including energy storage (battery) and solar PV inverters.
- Conduct voltage optimization, hosting capacity, and power flow analysis.
- Support the development of the DER Management program, including voltage management, network communication, data mapping, process development, and system operations requirements.
- Communicate with remotely operable distribution devices.
- Provide expertise in IEEE 1547.2018 and UL 1741 standards.
- Utilize Python programming and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Ensure computer literacy in essential functions like Outlook, virtual desktop, and Teams.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required.
- 1 year of Python programming experience preferred.
- Background in computer programming preferred.
- Experience with MODBUS 2030.5 preferred.
- Knowledge of DER standards, including energy storage and solar PV inverters.
- Working knowledge of IEEE 1547.2018 and UL 1741 standards.
- Experience in voltage management and DER reporting preferred.

Pay Range: $80 - $85/hr. W2
