Job Overview: The Systems Operations Engineer 4 - Contingent will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Systems Operations Engineering. This role involves reviewing and analyzing multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented elements. The position contributes to resolving complex situations requiring a solid understanding of functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to meet deliverables. Strategic collaboration and consultation with client personnel are key aspects of this role.
Responsibilities: - Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Systems Operations Engineering.
- Review and analyze multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
- Contribute to resolving complex situations requiring solid understanding of functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
- Provide on-call support and flexibility to work ad-hoc shifts when required.
Qualifications: - 5+ years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience, demonstrated through work experience, training, or education.
- Proficiency in leveraging observability platforms such as BigPanda, ThousandEyes, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Splunk Observability, and AppDynamics.
- 4+ years of experience in IT Service Management (ITSM), with a strong background in incident, problem, and change management processes.
- 3+ years of experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Kubernetes, with a focus on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
- 3+ years of experience with Site Reliability Engineering and supporting production-grade systems.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud-native architectures, high-availability systems, Cloud & Container Technologies like Google Cloud Platform or Azure, and familiarity with Kubernetes.
- Expertise in Automation & Scripting, including developing and maintaining playbooks in Ansible Tower.
Desired Qualifications: - Strong experience working in Agile methodologies/Scrum environments.
- Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
