Summary

Description

We are looking for a Mobile Device Engineer to take ownership of a large enterprise mobile environment supporting a 24/7 healthcare organization. This role will be responsible for the full lifecycle of mobile technology, including iPhones, iPads, mobile device management, application deployment, operating system upgrades, device refreshes, and long-term platform planning. This is more than a device administration role. The ideal candidate will be someone who takes ownership, plans ahead, communicates clearly, and follows deployments through to completion. You will help ensure mobile technology is reliable, secure, and ready to support critical patient-care workflows.

If you enjoy owning an environment, improving processes, and being the person who makes sure things don't fall through the cracks, this role could be a great fit.

Enterprise Mobility & Device Management
  • Own and administer the enterprise mobile device environment, including iPhones, iPads, and tablets
  • Manage mobile devices through JAMF, Microsoft Intune, MECM/SCCM, and Apple Business Manager
  • Manage iOS/iPadOS upgrades, testing, deployment, and release readiness
  • Support new Apple device introductions and emerging mobile technologies
  • Monitor device and deployment health and resolve exceptions

Application Deployment & Support
  • Manage enterprise mobile application deployments and updates
  • Support Rover-related application deployments and go-live activities
  • Validate that application and operating system deployments are completing successfully
  • Troubleshoot failed deployments and coordinate with other technical teams when needed
  • Partner with application, infrastructure, security, and business teams to minimize disruption

Mobile Lifecycle Management
  • Own the mobile device lifecycle from procurement and deployment through retirement and replacement
  • Maintain accurate device inventory and identify devices approaching end-of-support
  • Develop refresh and replacement strategies based on device age, supportability, and business needs
  • Build proactive lifecycle roadmaps, timelines, and recommendations
  • Help forecast future device needs and potential budget impact

Planning & Platform Strategy
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap for the organization's mobile technology environment
  • Create proactive testing and validation plans for major Apple and mobile platform releases
  • Coordinate change management activities surrounding mobile technology
  • Evaluate the operational and business impact of platform changes before deployment
  • Identify opportunities to improve the reliability, efficiency, and maturity of the mobile environment

Requirements

Experience administering enterprise mobile devices or mobility environments

Experience with an MDM platform, such as JAMF or Microsoft Intune

Experience managing Apple devices in an enterprise environment

Understanding of device lifecycle management, software deployment, and operating system upgrades

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to independently manage projects, deadlines, and competing priorities

Strong communication skills and a demonstrated sense of ownership

Preferred
  • JAMF administration experience
  • Microsoft Intune
  • Apple Business Manager
  • MECM/SCCM
  • Enterprise iPhone/iPad management
  • Healthcare or clinical technology experience
  • Experience supporting applications in a highly regulated environment
  • Change management and release coordination experience
