Description:
On-site Every Other Week / 5 days in Westlake, TX

Our client seeks a Systems Analyst to support modernization efforts for annuity and life insurance domain applications. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to define clear requirements, create solution artifacts, coordinate releases, and improve customer experience outcomes. You will analyze production incidents, reverse engineer legacy components to document business logic, and contribute to API design and data modeling. You will help ensure software quality by reducing ambiguity and aligning business and technology teams on scope and priorities.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $55.00 to $60.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the flow of clear, testable requirements and user stories from business stakeholders to technology teams.
  • Author and manage solution requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria for moderate to complex systems.
  • Reverse engineer existing code and prototypes to document business logic and propose improvements.
  • Produce solution artifacts including business flow diagrams and context diagrams.
  • Coordinate release activities and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
  • Build and manage OpenAPI contracts and collaborate on REST and SOAP integrations.
  • Perform production incident analysis using Splunk queries, build dashboards, and configure alerts.
  • Support data analysis and design across complex relational database schemas using SQL and management tools.
  • Collaborate within Agile teams using scrum practices and tools such as Jira.
  • Contribute to solution architecture discussions including event-driven and AWS core services where applicable.

Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years as a Systems Analyst for software solutions.
  • Proven experience with requirements authoring, user stories, and specifications for complex systems.
  • Strong SQL proficiency and understanding of relational database schemas and tooling.
  • Hands-on experience with REST, SOAP, JSON, and APIs.
  • Agile methodology experience with deep knowledge of scrum tools, Jira desirable.
  • Release coordination and cross-team collaboration experience.
  • Ability to reverse engineer code and build prototypes using Excel Macros, Java, or Angular.
  • Experience creating business flow and context diagrams.
  • Understanding of solution architecture and OpenAPI contract development.
  • Production incident analysis using Splunk, including dashboards and alerts.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to operate across U.S. and China-based teams with schedule flexibility.
  • Self-driven with leadership and influencing skills without direct authority.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technology field.
